Memory foam mattress frames are usually square-shaped and made of solid wood. The mattress rests on a base of solid wood with the frame fully supporting it. When selecting a memory foam bed frame, buy a frame specifically designed for these types of beds. Even though regular coil mattress can be supported by a wire frame, the same is not true for memory foam beds. A proper frame is definitely necessary!
