Latex foam mattresses are made from natural rubber. These beds are made from pure latex, and can cost a little more than memory foam mattresses. Foam was discovered back in the 1970s by NASA, and was first used to construct beds by Tempur-Pedic.
Natural latex rubber differs from viscoelastic foam in the way the polyurethane bonds are arranged in the material.
Usually visco-elastic foam is a softer than natural rubber foam bed. The reason for preferring a latex to a memory foam bed is The reason why more people prefer a latex foam mattress compared to a visco-elastic foam bed is because latex foam is more natural than memory foam.
