The available boat cushions can save your life in an emergency by helping a passenger stay afloat in water. It involves placing your arms through the straps, in the same manner when using airplane seat cushions.
However, it should be cautioned that even with floating boat seat cushions, it is still the law in many areas to wear a life vest while out boating. Having a boat seat cushion, which can help you float, is an added advantage.
