Depending on the job at hand, choosing the right type of foam insulation is important to completion of the job. The R-value is important to determining the type of insulate to be installed. Foam will usually have an R-value of R-4 to R-8. These values for foam insulation is determined by a few factors such as the thickness and density of the foam, and how the foam will be installed. Other factors such as the amount of gas or the type of gas to be used in the installation, will also affect the R-value as well. It is necessary to know the R-value to determine the best type of insulation.
